Turkey Chili

Ingredients

1 Tbsp olive oil
1 lb lean ground turkey
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup bell peppers, chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
3 to 4 Tbsp chili powder
2 cans of low sodium chili beans
2 cans of crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup brown sugar substitute

Optional:
Low fat shredded cheddar cheese
Dollop of low fat sour cream

Directions

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Place turkey in the pot and brown. Stir in onions and peppers and cook until tender.
Add garlic powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper to taste.
Add 2 cans of chili beans and 2 cans of crushed tomatoes. Stir and let simmer for 30-45 minutes. Add small amounts of water to thin out chili, if desired.
Stir in 1/2 cup brown sugar and let simmer another 15-20 minutes or more until ready to serve
You may add additional chili powder or cumin for extra flavor

Top with any optional ingredients if desired, serve and enjoy!
